Strawberry growing systems

Strawberry growing has become the most complex horticultural growing there is. To answer to the clients' needs, the growers have to adopt a large range of new growing methods that allow them to produce better quality strawberries over a longer period and using less labour. Traditional growing on bare ground is still largely used for "pick-your-own" and kiosk sale in the North-eastern American regions, but a large part of the strawberries sold outside the farm are now grown on plasticulture. The growing techniques on plastic mulches have much evolved since their adoption by strawberry growers.
